Reach Out To Asia's Annual Youth Conference Promotes Leadership, Learning and Global Citizenship

Reach Out to Asia (ROTA), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), has revealed new details about this month’s EMPOWER conference.

EMPOWER is Qatar’s first and largest youth-led summit, equipping young people in Qatar and the region to take active roles in building their communities and discovering a voice on global issues. This year’s event will be supported by Qatar Petroleum, officials announced at a press conference today in Doha.

Television Personality Lojain Omran Appointed ROTA Goodwill Ambassador

Television personality Lojain Omran has been appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador of Reach Out to Asia (ROTA), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF). Lojain Omran is renowned for her philanthropic campaigns supporting young refugees in Syria, and children affected by wars, political conflicts and natural disasters in Somalia and north Kenya.

Lojain will be an integral and effective member in the region’s volunteer efforts. Her humanitarian efforts are closely aligned with ROTA’s core mission, which extends assistance to people affected by crises around the world through various initiatives and educational volunteers’ trips. ROTA’s dedicated social and educational endeavours support QF’s mission to develop human potential regionally and internationally through a network of centres devoted to progressive education, research and community welfare.

ROTA's 7th Annual Youth Conference To Discuss Peace In Doha

Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), is once again organising the annual EMPOWER youth summit as part of a long-standing commitment to building strong, sustainable communities in Qatar and the region.

EMPOWER 2015 is a youth-led conference, now in its seventh year, which focuses on enabling young people between the ages of 17 and 26 to take active leadership roles in building their communities and discovering their voice on global issues It is the first and largest conference of its kind in Qatar.

ROTA completes training of trainers programme for its second term

Reach out to Asia (ROTA), member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), has completed its second Training of Trainers programme (ToT) for over 120 volunteers. The initiative is responsible for providing training skills for 250 low-income workers as part of ROTA’s Adult English Literacy Programme (RAEL) on 30-31 January 2015.

Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), has completed its trip to Cambodia where 26 ROTA volunteers, students and teachers from Qatar-based independent schools for girls, travelled to conduct vital educational training for local schools. The trip was part of the ROTA International Outreach Program, funded by Vodafone Qatar. Her Highness Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, the Chairperson of Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), has signed during a press conference the ‘Empower Declaration 2014.’ This declaration entitled ‘Sports for Youth Empowerment’ was launched by a dozen of ROTA young volunteers from Qatar and the Gulf region, including Generation Amazing Youth Ambassadors from the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. This declaration comes as part of ROTA’s 6th Annual Youth Conference (Empower) organized by ROTA on 27 - 29 March, 2014.

Youth in Qatar will teach Arabic to low-income workers through ROTA’s new Adult Arabic Literacy Program

Following the success of its Adult English Literacy Program, Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) today announced its Adult Arabic Literacy Program (RAAL), in collaboration  with Academic Bridge and Awsaj Academy. The program, which is sponsored by Qatar Petroleum, aims to educate workers from diverse language and cultural backgrounds in the fundamental skills of modern standard Arabic, thus helping them to grow their skills outside of their daily duties and expand their professional opportunities. As one of ROTA’s flagship Youth Engagement programs, this humanitarian program also gives young people in Qatar a unique opportunity to grow their skills as community leaders and advocates.

Over 120 volunteers to educate migrant workers through ROTA’S Adult English Literacy Program

Reach Out To Asia’s Adult English Literacy (RAEL) Program has been launched again this year in collaboration with the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, Northwestern University in Qatar, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, as well as the Public Works Authority (Ashgal).
