ROTA Partners With College Of The North Atlantic-Qatar To Support Youth In Nepal

Summary: 

Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) recently partnered with College of the North Atlantic – Qatar (CNA-Q) to send 14 students to Nepal as part of its International Volunteer Trips Program, which aims to build the capacity of volunteers in Qatar as well as youth and communities in Nepal and around Asia.The student volunteers, along with two CNA-Q staff members, travelled with ROTA to the Nawalparasi District in Nepal to provide educational support to a ROTA-supported READ Nepal Community Center from December 15 – 23, 2016.

ROTA Hosts iEARN-Qatar Training Workshop For Teachers

Summary: 

Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) recently hosted an iEARN (International Education and Resource Network)teacher training workshop on Project Based Learning (PBL) methodology at Michael E. DeBakey High School – Qatar. A group of 124 teachers from 20 independent and private schools attended the iEARN teacher training workshop, providing the opportunity for teachers and students in Qatar to collaborate with an online network of educators and learners across 140 countries.

International Luminaries Raise More Than $15 Million For Education Initiatives At 6th ROTA Gala Dinner

Attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir, and Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Reach Out To Asia’s (ROTA) biennial Gala Dinner and auction raised more than $15 million this evening to help fund education initiatives in marginalised communities across Asia and the Middle East. The prestigious event, which took place at Al Shaqab in Doha, was attended by: His Royal Highness Al Waleed Bin Talal; Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of Reach Out To Asia (ROTA); Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF); and His Excellency Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, among other members of the royal family.

Reach Out To Asia Concludes First Phase Of RYSC Leadership Training Programme

Summary: 

Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), in partnership with ExxonMobil, concluded the first phase of its annual RYSC Leadership Training programme aimed to develop the leadership, communication and community service skills of youth in Qatar. More than 45 young men and women, aged 16 – 26, participated in several workshops over the course of four days. The workshops covered a number of topics including social development management, team leadership, human resources development, financial visualisation and budgeting, and marketing. In addition to the workshops, participants took part in practical team building exercises.
